during the nineties. The key member of the research team, devoted to the idea, was <u>professor Pavol Alexy<\/u>. As part of his teaching activities, especially during supervising the diploma and dissertation theses at the Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology of the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava, over time he also got his students excited about bioplastics development, who later became team members, project managers and technologists.<\/p>\n<p>The scientific base is provided with the necessary infrastructure by <u>PANARA<\/u>, managed by Miroslav Galambo\u0161. During the development of NonOilen, both parties achieved an interesting synergy. They joined together for the same goal, which is the creation of an environmentally-friendly, bioplastic material produced without oil. One of the shareholders of PANARA is ALPLA, a globally significant, internationally active manufacturer of plastic products. We just have to learn to deal with them. It is not wise not to use them, because they are useful, but it is also not wise to keep using them, the way we use them in the present. I don&#8217;t think plastics will disappear, that wouldn&#8217;t be beneficial. However, we will have to find a way, how to use them sensibly. First of all, we need to change our waste treatment. And also, wherever possible, products will be designed for multiple use.
